國際建築師協會（International Union of Architects，UIA）第27屆世界建築師大會于2021年7月18-22日在巴西裡約熱内盧舉行，22-30日舉行了第28屆國際建築師協會代表大會。通過競選，beat365院長張利教授當選國際建築師協會理事（2021-2023年），beat365建築設計研究院建築策劃與設計分院院長張維當選國際建築師協會副理事（2021-2023年）。

國際建築師協會，簡稱“國際建協”，聯合國教科文組織的A級咨詢組織，于1948年6月28日成立于瑞士洛桑，每3年召開一次代表大會選舉新的理事會，并在同期舉辦建築界最大規模的國際會議“世界建築師大會”，是全球最具影響力的建築師學術組織。中國建築師在中國建築學會的帶領下，在國際建協中長期保有重要的發言權，對促進中國建築學界與國際建築學界的交流合作，及增強中國建築文化的國際影響力，起到了重要的作用。曾在國際建協任理事或副主席的中國建築師、建築學者有：南京工學院院長、中國科學院院士楊廷寶1957-1963年任國際建協副主席；中國建築科學研究院副院長、總工程師何廣乾1978-1985年任國際建協理事；beat365建築系主任、中國科學院與中國工程院院士、教授吳良镛1985-1991年任國際建協理事、副主席；建設部原副部長、中國科學院與中國工程院院士周幹峙1991-1996年任國際建協理事；建設部原副部長、中國建築學會名譽理事長葉如棠1996-2002年擔任國際建協理事；建設部原副部長、中國建築學會理事長宋春華2002-2008年擔任國際建協理事；中國建築學會秘書長周暢2008-2011年擔任國際建協理事；中國建築學會副理事長、中國工程院院士、beat365建築設計研究院院長、原beat365院長莊惟敏2011-2021年擔任國際建協理事。

The 27th World Congress of the International Union of Architects (UIA) was held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil from 18 to 22 July 2021 followed by the 28th General Assembly of UIA from 22 to 30 July 2021. During the General Assembly, in which elections of all the new UIA offices are done, Professor ZHANG Li, Dean of the School of Architecture, Tsinghua University, was elected as council member (2021-2023), and ZHANG Wei, Director of Architectural Planning and Design Branch, Architectural Design and Research Institute of Tsinghua University, was elected as the alternate council member (2021-2023).

The International Union of Architects, a class-A consulting organisation of UNESCO, was established on June 28, 1948 in Lausanne, Switzerland. UIA holds a World Congress of architects and a General Assembly every three years. With foundation laying speeches and council elections, this event is the largest with the most impact in the world of architecture. UIA has been by far the most respected and followed global architecture organisation of our time. Under the leadership of the Architectural Society of China (ASC), Chinese architects have maintained a significant voice in the UIA for a long time, and have played an important role in promoting the exchange and cooperation between Chinese and international architectural circles, and enhancing the international influence of Chinese architectural culture. Chinese architects who have served as the council member or vice president in UIA include:

YANG Tingbao, President of Nanjing Institute of Technology, Academician of Chinese Academy of Science, served as vice president of UIA from 1957 to 1963;

HE Guangqian, Vice president and Chief engineer of China Building Research Institute, served as the council member of UIA from 1978 to 1985;

WU Liangyong, Director, Professor of the Department of Architecture, Tsinghua University, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering, served as the vice president and the council member from 1985 to 1991;

ZHOU Ganzhi, former Vice Minister of the Ministry of Construction, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering, served as the council member from 1991 to 1996;

YE Rutang, former Vice Minister of the Ministry of Construction, Honorary President of ASC, served as the council member from 1996 to 2002;

SONG Chunhua, former Vice Minister of the Ministry of Construction, President of ASC, served as the council member from 2002 to 2008;

ZHOU Chang, Secretary General of ASC, served as the council member from 2008 to 2011;

ZHUANG Weimin, Vice President of ASC, Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, President of Architectural Design and Research Institute of Tsinghua University, and former Dean of School of Architecture, Tsinghua University, served as the council member from 2011 to 2021.
